Blog 5: Sound Project
- Why is sound or the lack of sound so important to a scene in a film?
Because sound creates context, mood, and feeling to a scene. Sound allows the visuals to connect with audience through audio. Things such as moves, echoes and the sound of dialogue can completely change the meaning and significance of a scene.
- Explain why it was or was not difficult to come up with sound ides for a story that would not have visuals for the audience to see.
Its not difficult because every action has a sound associated with it, and the context of those sounds makes it easy to imagine a non-visual story, as there are sounds to go along with anything.
- Explain weather you believe or do not believe that your group was able to create a sound story that the audience would be able to understand by just listening to the sounds that were chosen.
I believe so. The sounds we have selected are able to tell a story pretty well without visuals, because they have a clear course of action and allow the audience to "fill in the blanks" with their imagination and come up with their own visuals.
